The Birds

October 2, 12:00

Walking towards veterans park the first interesting thing I heard was a few birds chirping. I like this sound because with the traffic in the background it really exemplifies the juxtaposition of man and nature that you see, or hear, with modern city living. To listen click here.

An Electric Buzz

October 2, 12:30pm

The buzz of a converter seems to be fairly ordinary but something about this caught me as unusual. At any rate it was really fascinating. To listen click here.

The Veterans Park Harbor

October 2, 12:40pm

When I walked up to the harbor the was a very ethereal quality to the place. All the boats were covered in fog and I could just hear the ropes clinking against the masts. To listen click here.

Jesus Truck

October 2, 2:30pm

As I was just rounding the corner of Lincoln and Lafayette Hill a truck drove by. I had seen it before driving around campus. There is a huge speaker in the back of t and it blares a conservative christian radio station broadcast all the time.

Construction

October 2, 3:00pm

I came across this sound towards the end of my walk. The workers were moving a huge concrete block with a crane. It looked really difficult.

Locations

I was recently doing some field recordings around Milwaukee. I walked a pretty good distance but my best recordings all came from a relatively small area. I made a map of the location of each sound in Milwaukee: click here.
If you go to this sight you should be able to get a good idea of the locations of the sounds within Milwaukee.
